Upsells (Using Funnels and 2.0 Builder)

Did you know it's easier to sell something to someone who’s already said ‘Yes’? 

Upsells are a fantastic way to get more products in front of your customers, and Simplero's Upsell feature makes adding Upsells to your products easy! If you’ve ever purchased something, and then been offered something like a limited time offer to purchase a second item right away - then you’ve experienced an Upsell :)

NOTE! In order to use Upsells, you need to have a payment processor that allows for automatic payments such as Stripe. The price of an Upsell also needs to be greater than $0.  It can be free upon purchase, but start charging at a later time.

Step 1 - Set up two products

To get started with Upsells, you’ll first need to set up at least two products:

• Product A - the one they’ll purchase first, and

• Product B - the one that’ll function as the Upsell. PRO TIP: You can create a secret price for the upsell product if you want to offer this product for less than the list price when it’s used as an Upsell. 

Step 2 - Create the Funnel:

Inside your funnel, you’ll need to add:

• The product form for product A

• The upsell landing page (see step 3)

• A thank you page - This can be a landing page, a scheduling link, another upsell… whatever you want your customers to see after the upsell

Step 3 - Create the Upsell Landing page

Create a landing page where your customers will choose if they want the upsell. Add two options on the page (buttons or text) for “Yes” or “No” options:

Here’s an example of what that could look like:

1. Click on the Yes button you created.

2. Set the Action on the right side to Go to… Then use the Link Picker to search for the upsell product.

3. Once the product is selected, choose prices:
   
   
   
   

4. This will prompt you to select the price of your upsell. Select the price and then choose 1-click purchase. Using that option, the purchase will be processed right away, without showing a new order form.
   
   

5. Click on the No option you created.
   
   If it’s a button, follow the steps above but choose This Funnel > Next Step from the Link Picker instead to Go to the next step in the funnel:
   
   
   
   If it’s text, highlight the text and select the Link icon. Then choose This Funnel > Next Step from the Link Picker
   
   
   
   
   
   NOTE! This option will only appear if you’ve added the next step in the funnel after the Upsell Sales Page step.

Showing a different page depending on the option chosen

If you want to show a different page depending on the option that your customers choose:

1. After the upsell page, add a conditional split step to the funnel:
   
   
   
   This will create two branches - one for each option.
   

2. Click on “Add branch”:
   
   
   

3. Choose what you want to add after the customer says “Yes” - typically a page:
   
   
   

4. Now click on “set conditions”:
   
   
   

5. And choose the condition “Did purchase funnel product”:
   
   
   

6. On the “Otherwise” branch, add what you want your customers to see after they say “No” to the upsell.
