How To Guides Sales Settings

How to set up MobilePay (via Simplero)

Updated May 8, 2025

This step-by-step guide will walk you through setting up MobilePay Online one-time payments, enabling you to offer seamless, single-payment options to your customers through MobilePay and Simplero.

MobilePay is a widely used mobile payment platform, and by setting up one-time payments, you can provide your customers with an easy and fast way to pay for their purchases, all in one transaction without recurring billing.

Am I eligible to offer MobilePay Online to my customers?

  • It's currently supported if your business and customers are located in Denmark, Finland or Norway.

  • The currency of your MobilePay merchant needs to match the currency used on your prices in Simplero. Otherwise your customer will encounter an error when trying to complete their payment.

See additional information on Merchant requirements further down in this guide.

Setting up your MobilePay Online Integration:

The process has 4 steps:

  1. Register as a MobilePay merchant

  2. Order your Solution "Payment Integration"

  3. Receive your Merchant Serial Number

  4. Create a MobilePay payment processor in Simplero

1. Register as a MobilePay merchant

The merchant agreement is a legal agreement between you and MobilePay. If you already have a MobilePay merchant Continue to step 2 "Order your solution" in this guide.

To register:

  1. Apply for a Merchant Agreement on the MobilePay merchant portal:

    • Choose your country (Denmark, Finland or Norway)

    • On the question: What type of solution are you looking for? Select "I know what I want - View all solutions":

    • On the Order solutions step select "Online payments”:

    • Select "Payment Integration - Add MobilePay to your existing payment solution":

    • After selecting the solution "Payment Integration" proceed through the following steps:

  2. Confirm your identity, email, and company details and click on create agreement.

  3. Add additional company details and sign the agreement

Your order will be processed immediately once your Merchant Agreement is approved. It might take a few days, because MobilePay are required to perform background checks on all merchants who want to use their services.

You will need to wait until the agreement is approved to proceed to the next steps. You can always check the status of your application on portal.vippsmobilepay.com.

2. Order your solution "Payment Integration"

Once you have your merchant agreement approved, you can order solutions from your merchant dashboard.

How to order your solution "Payment Integration":

  1. Log in to the business portal: https://portal.vippsmobilepay.com/login

  2. Select "Order solution" from the left hand menu

  3. Select the solution "Payment Integration" and follow the online instructions:

    • Add your business details and sales information

      • Select "Simplero" as your business partner who's going to integrate the solution

    • Add Bank account and revenue details

    • Add information about your services and products

That's it! Submit your order of the product solution.

If you're unable to submit the order of your solution, it might be because your merchant is not yet approved. Please contact MobilePay Support in that case.

You can always check the status of your application on portal.vippsmobilepay.com.

Note: If your current merchant account and Merchant Serial Number (MSN) are connected to a solution integrated with a partner other than Simplero, you’ll need to create a new sales unit and obtain a new Merchant Serial Number (MSN) to set up your new solution with us. To use Simplero as the integration partner for an existing solution, please contact MobilePay at erhverv@mobilepay.dk to request a partner switch.

3. Receive your Merchant Serial Number

  • Once your merchant agreement and solution are processed you should receive a Merchant Serial Number from MobilePay.

  • Note down your number as you will be needing it later on.

4. Create a MobilePay Online payment processor in Simplero

Once you have gotten "Payment Integration" added as your product solution (step 2) and received your Merchant Serial Number from MobilePay (step 3) you need to add a new Payment Processor in your Simplero account.

See our guide here on how to add a new payment processor if needed.

  • Navigate to Payment Processors in your account.

  • Click on "Add a payment processor" from the top right corner.

  • Select "MobilePay" as your payment processor.

  • Add your MobilePay "Merchant Serial Number" from your merchant agreement under the "Credentials" section on the payment processor.

  • Save the changes.

  • Test that the payment processor is working by pressing the "Test access" button.

  • Make sure that the test returns "Looks good!":

Your integration with MobilePay Online for one-time payments is now successfully set up, and you can start offering it as a payment method!
