Running an International Business

Updated Nov 17, 2025

If you’re serving people from all corners of the world, and we want everything to feel smooth, for you and for them. This guide walks you through the essentials:

Multiple currencies

  • Set Up Multiple Currencies on your account settings and products by following the steps in this guide. Once you do that, your customers will be able to select their preferred currency at checkout, seeing prices displayed in that currency.
  • If you prefer, you can set a default currency for a product different than the account currency. You can do this under the product configure tab (see steps in this guide). Note: The account default currency will always show as an option.

Language settings

Simplero supports several languages, including English, Danish, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish. Although these are the primary languages fully or mostly translated, translations can sometimes vary in quality due to crowd-sourcing.

Only Simplero's default text is automatically translated (order forms, sales pages, default thank you pages, navigation... ). If you want to translate your custom content, you will need to create your own translations.

If you're launching a product or service to a multilingual audience, here are some tips:

  • Choose your default language and location following the steps in this guide. This will be the one we choose when we don't have any information about the user. If we do have information, we will use:
    • If the visitor is logged in, we take that user's preferred language set in their profile settings
    • If the browser has a preference for a language, we'll use whichever is highest (you can set this preference in your browser)
  • If you want to force a language, You can append a query parameter to change the language of your sales page links, such as ?locale=en for English or ?locale=da for Danish.
  • Multiple languages in products See our guide here
  • Automation in Multiple Languages: See our guide here
  • Sites in Multiple Languages: See our guide here

If you want to translate system-generated content or work with Simplero in a language not fully supported, you can volunteer to be a translator. Get in touch with support if that is the case!

Taxes

We let you create tax rules based on your customers’ country, region, or even product. Set it once, and Simplero handles the rest for every sale using the customer's location.

Data privacy laws (GDPR and others)

GDPR is a regulation in the EU that helps consumers better understand where data is being collected about them and helps ensure that data is being protected. The GDPR applies to any company doing business in the EU and not just companies located in the EU. Simplero is committed to helping our customers to conduct business in compliance with these regulations.

You can learn more here.

In this guide, we detail how to adjust your settings to comply with GDPR, customize GDPR at the list and product level, and delete the user data.

Cookie consent

Some countries require cookie notices; others don’t. Turn on the built-in cookie banner, choose the appearance, and update the tracking to respect the users choice. It keeps you compliant without extra tools or plugins.

Check the details in this guide.

Time zones

You set your own time zone in your account, and everyone else sees events in their local zone. No extra setup. No confusion.

  • Choose your default time zone on your account settings: The time zone setting is used for new event occurrences, purchase forecasts, and in some other places as a fallback in case we don’t know the visitor or user's time zone.
  • Each user can choose their time zone in their profile settings
  • When creating wait steps in automations, you can choose for the emails to be sent in the receiver's time zone (see how in this guide)
  • Users will be able to choose their time zone when signing up for events and scheduling links.
