How to Create Anchor Links

Anchor links let you link to a particular part or item on a page from the click of a button or link on that same page.

Here’s How to Add One to Your Landing/Site Pages

Add Anchor Link to a Button:

Buttons can jump to a Section or Element. Here’s how…

Jump to a Section:
  1. Head to Marketing >> Landing Pages or Content >> Sites >> Choose the Site >> Pages

  2. Click on the page you want to add the anchor link to

  3. Add a button to the page

  4. Press Action and choose Scroll to section

  5. Under Section, choose the section on the page you want to jump to when clicking the button:

Jump to an Element:

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above

  2. Press Action and choose Go To

  3. Under Link, press Type or Select a Link and choose On Page Items from the dropdown:


  4. Then choose the element on the page that you want the link to jump to:

Add Anchor Link to Hyperlinked Text:

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above

  2. Add text to the page using an Element

  3. Highlight the text you want to hyperlink and press the link icon:


  4. Under URL, press Type or Select a Link and choose On Page Items from the dropdown:


  5. Then choose the element on the page that you want the link to jump to:


  6. Press Insert to save the hyperlink

Now the Button or Link will jump down to the section you anchored it to!

NOTE! You can rename the sections and elements on your page to make it easier to find the one you’re looking for.

Just press the pencil icon next to the name of the Section on the list of Sections:

Or you can click on the title of the Section or Element and press the pencil icon next to the title:

You can also rename Rows and Columns, but you can’t anchor link to them.


Link to an Anchored Section on a Different Page

  1. Follow the steps above to add an Anchor Link

  2. View your page in a new tab from the front-end

  3. Click on the button or text that jumps to the section you anchor linked:


  4. This will jump down to the anchor linked section. Now copy the URL of the page (it should have a # with a string of letters and numbers after it):


  5. Now head to the other page where you want to link to the anchored section and paste this link into the URL section of the button or hyperlink on that page:

This will jump to the anchored section on the other page.
