This step-by-step guide will walk you through setting up MobilePay Subscriptions, enabling you to offer subscription and installment payment options to your customers through MobilePay and Simplero.
MobilePay is a widely used mobile payment platform, and by setting up subscriptions, you can provide your customers with seamless, recurring payment options.
It's currently supported if your business and customers are located in Denmark, Finland or Norway.
The currency of your MobilePay merchant needs to match the currency used on your prices in Simplero. Otherwise your customer will encounter an error when trying to complete their payment.
See additional information on Merchant requirements further down in this guide.
Example: If a subscription is created to renew every 3 days:
The first payment is captured immediately.
The second charge is initiated 3 days later (from the time of last captured payment)
Due to MobilePay’s 2-day processing time, the second payment is captured on day 5 and so on.
Customers will receive payment notifications in the MobilePay app.
The process has 4 steps:
The merchant agreement is a legal agreement between you and MobilePay. If you already have a MobilePay merchant Continue to step 2 "Order your solution" in this guide.

Your order will be processed immediately once your Merchant Agreement is approved. It might take a few days, because MobilePay are required to perform background checks on all merchants who want to use their services. You will need to wait until the agreement is approved to proceed to the next steps.
You can always check the status of your application on portal.vippsmobilepay.com.
Once you have your merchant agreement approved, you can order solutions from your merchant dashboard.
How to order your solution "Recurring Payments":
Log in to the business portal: https://portal.vippsmobilepay.com/login
Select "Order solution" from the left hand menu
Select the solution "Recurring Payments" and follow the online instructions:
Add your business details and sales information
Select "Simplero" as your business partner who's going to integrate the solution
Add Bank account and revenue details
Add information about your services and products
That's it! Submit your order of the product solution.
If you're unable to submit the order of your solution, it might be because your merchant is not yet approved. Please contact MobilePay Support in that case.
You can always check the status of your application on portal.vippsmobilepay.com.
Note: If your current merchant account and Merchant Serial Number (MSN) are connected to a solution integrated with a partner other than Simplero, you’ll need to create a new sales unit and obtain a new Merchant Serial Number (MSN) to set up your new solution with us. To use Simplero as the integration partner for an existing solution, please contact MobilePay at erhverv@mobilepay.dk to request a partner switch.
Once your merchant agreement and solution are processed you should receive a Merchant Serial Number from MobilePay.
Note down your number as you will be needing it later on.
Once you have gotten "Recurring Payments" added as your product solution (step 2) and received your Merchant Serial Number from MobilePay (step 3) you need to add a new Payment Processor in your Simplero account.
See our guide here on how to add a new payment processor if needed.
Navigate to Payment Processors in your account.
Click on "Add a payment processor" from the top right corner.
Select "MobilePay" as your payment processor.
Add your MobilePay "Merchant Serial Number" from your merchant agreement under the "Credentials" section on the payment processor.
Save the changes.
Test that the payment processor is working by pressing the "Test access" button.
