Welcome to everyone else who's here so far. Super glad you guys are here. So, yeah, I'll just give a quick minute, let people come in. But just to, you know, clarify, I'm Christina from Simplero. If you haven't met me, I know, Charlotte, I've met you, Steffi, Ryan, and Kelly.

And today, we're gonna cover communicating with your audience through broad cast, newsletters, auto responses, automations, etcetera, and we'll just kinda go over all of those details. It is a bit of a high level overview, and then we're gonna save, you know, some space at the end if you have any questions or anything you need clarified. So, so, again, I'll jump in.

You can totally keep your camera off and just do what you need to do. Alright. I'm gonna go ahead and share my screen, and we are gonna jump in. So again, for anyone who just joined, we're gonna jump in. I'm gonna dive into the topic communicating with your audience.

So first, we're gonna jump in, and we're gonna start with email designs because this is the foundation of any emails that you're sending out. They have to come with an email template, and you get to decide what that template looks like. So you're gonna click on the settings tab up in the top right hand corner, and you're gonna choose email designs. So this is our demo account. There are so many email designs in here.

You do not need this many. You can have multiple email designs. Sometimes people have certain designs they wanna use for emails that go out to certain lists or certain segments of their audience. So they wanna use a certain design for that. And, again, you can change the header image for each one.

And then let's say they want a different header image for a different set of emails that go out to a different part of their audience. Right? So that's kind of one use case for having multiple designs. And you can choose between the design you need to use when you're creating an email. I'll show you how to do that depending on which email you create.

So when you add add a design just as a high level overview, we've got 2, basic options, simple and plain. And the difference between these 2 is that simple is it's got margins on the side, if you can see. So it's a little bit wider margins versus plain. There aren't really any margins, and it's just kind of stretched out, to the full almost the full extent of the email. So I'm gonna go ahead and pick simple.

We also have create a new template from scratch if you have HTML, for example, to make your own template. You know, not everyone has that. If you have the coding experience or a coder who has that and you need to create a template from scratch, you can use this option. But let's say you're creating one with the 2 options we have. I'm gonna choose simple just to show you.

And then here, it's pretty straightforward. You give it a name. You choose you can change the template if you need to here. The header image goes here, and that will be that will show up here. And I'm gonna show you what that looks like.

You can keep the image. We recommend keeping it 600 pixels wide. The reason for that is that it will stretch to the full extent and it will look good, for the most part on most email providers when they open up their email. Your recipients are looking at it. So, just to see here.

I don't think we have this is our demo account so we don't really have a lot of great options. But I'm just gonna pick So this is not not the correct size. But this is where the email just for the purpose of showing you, this is where the email shows up. Right? So it's at the top.

You can also give it a URL and have it hyperlinked to something. You would put that here. And then the body text. So this is when you're writing an email, this is would be the default body, font size, line height, etcetera that we use, which you can then customize further in the specific email after. One caveat here that I know has been, a question in tickets multiple times, is that when you're writing the email, it's not gonna look like it's using the font size, family, and line height from your email design from the inside of the email when you're writing it.

But that's just the way it is from the back end. When you look at the email from the front end, if you don't change anything about the text while you're writing an email and you view the email before you send it, like, you view a preview or whatever, it will use these settings. So it's really just the back end of Simplero when you're typing an email isn't necessarily using Helvetica new or 15 pixels, but don't let that deter you. You are on the right track. It is using these these settings.

And then another reason we don't have so many font family options here is because these are the font family options that are, like, tried and true. So we know that these ones, for the most part, show up and are very compatible. They're compatible with all the email providers or most of them. So that's why we only give these as an option, to choose from. Again, you can choose all your colors, text color, link color, and then those can be customized further in the email itself.

I'll show you that later. Footers, you can choose the colors for that. And then you can include social sharing links, if you're if you're sending this to one of your lists. And what that does is it allows the person who received the email to share that email on their social media. Right?

So if you're sending out an email that's not really private, it's something that you want to be shareable, like a campaign or something like that. This is where you're gonna find the social sharing link. So that's super important. Bottom filler copy is for email open rate optimization. So this just gives you the option not to use it.

The place where you find where to put the bottom filler copy for your lists and emails, etcetera, is if you go to, settings, email settings, I believe. Let me just see here. And you will see here. Yeah. So it's just a way to optimize your open rates.

You can put some copy down here. We give you direction on what to put in there. Non sales y copy, your purpose, your mission statement, core values. And then what we'll do is we'll add them to the bottom of all broadcast automation emails. And, basically, it does boost it's considered a way to, boost the quality of your emails, which helps them, get opened more.

Right? So I I'm gonna close that out. But, again, that's where you'll find them. Settings, email settings, and then you're gonna go ahead and you can turn them off here if you need to. A couple things that you'll notice with this email design, for example, is that in an email itself, you've got the body and then you've got 2 different types of footers.

Okay? So this footer down here is the default footer, and it's also gonna have the unsubscribe option. So it's gonna have the option, a link to go to manage their subscription and unsubscribe from things or to unsubscribe directly when the email is sent to a list. That would show up here, And that's something that you can't remove. We are legally required to add that.

Right? So we add that in for you. You don't have to worry about that. And then we also add the company name and your address. So if you don't want the address to show up here, sometimes people don't realize where it's gonna show up when they add it to their account, you'll want to remove it from your settings.

So again, settings, account settings, or I can go from here as well since I'm already in account settings. If I go to account settings here and I scroll down to name and address, you'll see that, the address here goes onto the footers, the default footers of my emails. And it will also go onto the default footer of any pages you have that use the default footer. Right? So, it's just a good thing to keep in mind.

Remove it from here if you don't want it to to show up in your emails. Sometimes people really don't want that. The other thing is there's also the option to add another footer. So this is the default footer and it will always populate. Right?

Now you can also add another footer. It's, you know, this is the dummy footer text. Right? So you'll see what it looks like, but it goes right here above the default footer. And this footer is not the legal footer.

It's just a place where you can add footer text that can go on to any email sent to a certain list or a certain product. Okay? So if you have specific text that you want to go in a footer just for, you know, email sent to one of your lists, your newsletter, for example, or just for emails sent to people who purchase one of your products, then you're gonna put that here. And the place to add that is twofold. So 1, if you're sending if you wanna add the footer for any email sent to your list, you would go to contacts lists.

I'm gonna open a new tab, and you'll choose the list here. So I'm gonna choose 7 steps to lose weight. It's our demo account again. Go to the configure tab of your list. And now here you'll see add text to footer in emails to this list.

And this is where you add that text, and it's gonna show up above the legal footer. The footer with your company name and the unsubscribe link, etcetera. So this will go above that. Yeah. You can add support contact info, important links, all that stuff can go here.

You can also add a prefix, one fact, to any it would go before the subject line of any emails that go to this list. So, again, if you need a certain prefix to show up, that's customer facing. So they receive the email, they see the subject line, and there's a prefix behind it. So you could put that too if you need it. And then it's the exact same place for product emails.

So if you have a product that you wanna include a specific footer on all the emails that go to that product, you would go to sales products, choose the product, and then go to configure. And now scroll down and you'll see add text to footer in email sent to this product. So same thing, but this is product specific. So all emails that you send to this product would include this, footer. Okay.

So that is that. Go ahead and pull back here. So now I'm gonna go ahead and so that's email designs. And I just wanted to start with that just because that's the foundation for your emails. So you wanna make sure you've got that set.

Again, you can find those at settings email designs. So one of the best ways to send out a one off email, usually for the most part, is to use email broadcast. So we're gonna start with that. So if you go to marketing email broadcast, you can create a new broadcast here. So, again, broadcast are typically used for one off emails.

You can duplicate a broadcast that's already been sent and use it again, or you can schedule out a broadcast for the future. I'll show you how to do both of those things. But for the most part, broadcast are meant to be, like, one off emails that you're sending to specific people in your audience, and you get to decide who that will be. So when you click create new broadcast here or here, you're gonna come to an option to use an email design, which is why I wanted to make sure you knew where to create that. So let's say I choose this one default.

I'll click start writing, And then you're gonna move to the content tab. So it's nice we've got this progression of all the steps you need to take to create your email up here at the top. And once you complete 1, we'll save it and just take you to the next step automatically. So you don't kinda get lost on where do I go next? It's like it will just carry you through.

1st the content, now the recipients, you know, all of that. So when you're writing your email content, you can choose your sender name and sender email and reply to email. We automatically populate the email from your settings account settings, spot here. If you go to settings account settings, you'll see it under emails. So we automatically pull this email and this sender name, but we give you the option to change it if you need to.

Right? So you can always change that per email. And then you can put the subject here. You can personalize it if you need to. You can give it another a different internal name.

Internal name is just for your use from the back end, so the customer won't see the internal name. You can give it a preheader, which, again, it shows up under the subject line in the inbox. And then, yeah. So that's all of that. And then down here, you'll be able to write the newsletter or write your broadcast.

There we go. Okay. So now I'm gonna click save and next. Okay. So now it's gonna take you to the recipients tab.

Right? So this is where you get to choose who you're sending it to. So we've got a whole bunch of different groups you can send to subscribers, contacts, tag contacts, event participants, purchasers, all of this stuff. Right? So you choose it from here, and then you're gonna select which lists or which products, which affiliates.

Like, you know, you'll be able to choose that here. And you can give it a condition if you need to as well. And then you're gonna save changes. So let's say I'm sending it out to the newsletter. And then, which I'm not gonna do because there seem to be a lot of people in that newsletter.

This is a fake account. So then you can also exclude. So if you're including people, that's gonna be the people you send it to. But you can also exclude people from that group. So down here, let's say we wanna send it to everyone who's on this list, but we wanna exclude people who have a certain tag.

Right? So I would click add exclude group, tagged contacts, and then choose the tag here. There are no tags that are being used right now, on this account. So I that's not a good option for this this account, but you know what I mean? And then same thing if there's a different thing.

Like, let's say, I want all people on this list who are not also part of this list, Then I would exclude those people. Right? We also have this toggle turned on to exclude unengaged contacts, which you can turn off. Unengaged contacts would be, pulling from your unengaged contact settings. Right?

So in the settings, for your unengaged contacts, you get to decide if you wanna use it. Right? So you can enable it or disable it, and then you can decide, how long we wait before we notice they haven't been opening an email or clicking an email before we consider them unengaged. All of that is underneath settings, unengaged contacts. I'm not gonna go into detail on that, but you can find it there.

So so yeah. So then you can exclude those unengaged contacts or you can include them. We give you the option because sometimes it's nice for you to know that you're excluding people who are historically unengaged and haven't been reengaging so that you don't have a high bounce rate and your emails actually go into the inboxes more more often. Right? So that's the goal.

We wanna boost your deliverability. You'll see the preview down here of all the recipients. And then you can go to click next and go to the summary tab. And this is where you can see and actually because this list is so big, I am going to switch it to this list which has 0 people, for the purpose of this thing. Here we go.

So let's pretend this has a lot more people. I guess it has oh, interesting. It says 95 now. I don't know what that is. But, okay.

So now you'll see here, you can see a preview of the email. The copy shows up here. I included the sharing links. All of this. So this is just to help you preview it.

You can also preview it in a different device, so mobile versus desktop. You can send a preview email to yourself here. And then you get to decide if you wanna send it now or send it later. Okay? So you would click queue, and then you can choose.

Okay. Send now, and we'll send it right away. Send later and you can choose the date and we'll queue it up. Or, save as draft and then that just saves it. You can also save it as a draft here as well and it will show up in your drafted email.

So I'll do that right now to show you what it looks like. So now under email broadcast on the draft tab, it's showing up here. Right? And then you can come back in and send it again whenever you need to send it. Right?

So that is email broadcast. Another thing I wanna make sure and show you guys is how to resend your email broadcast once they've already been sent because there's a couple really good use cases for that. So I'm actually gonna use our support account for that because we've got some sent emails. So under marketing broadcasts, you'll see all the different so here, this is our test account. Tons of test things in here.

But under the delivered tab, you'll see all the emails that have been delivered. And you can see on the right, we give you a high level overview of the open rate, the click rate, unsubscribes, bounced, who it was sent to, if they replied, if they marked it spam. Right? So that's kind of a nice high level overview of all your broadcast. You can see it here.

If you need to duplicate a broadcast and reuse it, there's a couple ways to do it. So if you click on I'm gonna click on copy of Justine. That's an email that was already sent called copy of Justine. Let's pretend this is a real email. So it's sent to 2 people.

What you can do is let's say you wanna resend it to specific group. If you click on resend in the top right hand corner, we have a quick way for you to resend it without having to kinda calculate which people you're looking for. So let's say if you wanna resend it and send to the same people, click same people and we will duplicate the broadcast and make the recipients the exact same people who received it. Or if you had new subscribers come in who didn't receive the email when you sent it, but now they're a subscriber. Right?

So you sent it to the list. You got 4 new subscribers, and now you want those 4 people to get this the same email because they they came in after you sent it. You can just choose new subscribers and we will duplicate the broadcast and only include the people who did not receive the email yet, but they're on the list now. Right? And we've got a whole bunch of other options.

You can resend it to people who didn't open it, who opened it, who didn't click, who clicked, who didn't reply, and who replied. Right? So it's just a faster way to do it. And then if you need to duplicate and reuse it for any other reason, you can always click the little dots up here and then choose duplicate right here. So that's a nice thing.

And then we'll just create a copy, and then you can edit the copy and send it out to whoever you need to. Another nice thing about delivered emails is you can see all of the data here as well. And then any links that need to be edited and all that fun stuff. One thing to note about links is you can edit the link after the email has been sent. So something that I've done over here, sometimes if you send out an email and you mess up the link or you need to change the link, you can, change it here.

Even after the email has gone out, you can change, you know, where this link goes. And then down here, expire link after a certain period of time. You can also expire make a link expire after the email is sent so you can decide how long. And that's great for certain campaigns. So if you're linking to a secret price or something like that or you're linking to something that you want to, not be available forever, even after the email gets sent, you can expire it here and decide how long.

And you can also give it a redirect. So you can redirect it to somewhere else if they try to click the link after it expires. Okay? So that is another thing about email broadcasts. Now I'm gonna go into newsletters.

And I know this is a a lot so we're kinda jumping between topic to topic. I'm gonna try and tie together how you can kinda make certain emails join your newsletter from your broadcast and how, you know, certain broadcast can become email for automation library stuff. Like, I'll show you how they're all connected too. But if you have any questions about this, or you feel like you're getting lost, feel free to pop it in the chat. Let me know, and I'll pause, and I'll be able to address it as well because I wanna make sure it is a lot of information.

So newsletters. I'm gonna go ahead and go to marketing newsletters. Newsletters are great. And actually sorry. I'm gonna do this in our demo account instead of Simplero support.

So yeah. So marketing newsletters. So this is where you can send out broadcast on a set schedule. Okay? So that's something that's really nice.

Good question. I'll remind you guys that at the end too. So newsletters are great because you can actually send out emails that go out in a schedule. And, similar to with broadcast, you can queue up a broadcast to get sent out on a certain day, but you have to do that per broadcast. And then and it's kinda just like any broadcast can be sent on any day versus a newsletter schedule.

You can create a schedule that has certain emails go out for a certain period of time, like, every week or every other week or every month. And then just queue up the emails to go into that schedule, and we will put them into the specific slot and the specific dates based on the schedule that you set. So it's a nice way to use like, if you're doing a newsletter, I always recommend using the actual newsletter schedule option because it'll just make your life a little easier. So once you come in here, obviously, these are some fake newsletters that we did. But if you click on create a newsletter schedule schedule in the top right hand corner, this is where you can give it a name.

So, Christina's, workshop newsletter schedule. I'll just call it that. You give it a name here. You can choose whether it repeats daily or weekly or monthly. Repeat every certain amount of days, every weekday, weekly, or, you know, on monthly, which weekday, on the first, the second, the third.

Yeah. Like, which which number, which day, or the day of the month. So I want it to repeat every, like, 15th of the month. Right? So all of this can be set here.

And then you can decide, you know, when is the next newsletter gonna be sent out, and that's gonna be the one that we calculate when the next one will be sent from. Right? Based on the schedule you set here. So it's really great to be able to set this up. And then down here, again, you can have we will automatically pull your sender name, your sender email, your reply to email.

We'll pull it all for you from your account settings. If you need a different one, you can change it here. Right? Email template, same thing. You get to decide your email template here.

You can change it if you need to. We use the default one that's default in your email designs. And, yeah, email template is the same as email design. So, subject line, you can choose the subject line. You could choose the body, And then, all of that stuff can be sent here for your first newsletter.

So we just give you the option to start writing in if you need to. And then down here, you can actually add reminders. So you can remind a certain admin, on your account, to get reminders that the the newsletter needs to go out. So 48 hours, 24, 4 hours before, we can send an email to that person saying, hey. Make sure you write the newsletter.

The new newsletter is gonna go out. It's gonna go out, you know, so that they don't forget. And then if they miss the deadline and then it's supposed to go out and it doesn't because you didn't write anything, we'll send you 2 whoops notices letting you know, like, hey. You didn't write one. And you can decide how many hours after you'll get those whoop no whoops notices as well.

Just to help you stay on track with writing your newsletters. So once you've set this up, I'm gonna say let's say repeat every, week on Monday. Right? And the next one would be, November or December 2nd, let's say. So that's what I've set here.

This is my first newsletter. I'll put something here, and then I'll just leave this as business as usual. Then I create the newsletter, And this is what it looks like. You get to go next to putting in your recipients for this newsletter. Right?

So the newsletter schedule needs to get, you need to choose the recipients for that. And then every time you queue up an email to be a part of this newsletter schedule, it's gonna get sent to this list of recipients. So let's say it's a newsletter that goes out to your newsletter list. You would choose them as the recipients. Again, you can choose anything else though, and then you'll see the preview of recipients down here.

And then you start by writing your newsletter. Right? So you would write your newsletter, put it in here. I already put this copy in, so we pulled it from what I said already. Click save, and here we are.

Now you get to see Simplero to what it looks like when you're creating a broadcast. You get to see what it looks like here. And then you can, either send it right away if you are late maybe and you just need to get it out because you you, didn't queue it up in time. Or you can add it to the queue to get sent at the next time that we said, an email is gonna get sent. So Monday, December 2nd in this case.

Let's add it to the queue. When you click queue, it goes into this slot. And now you'll see the queue shows all the newsletters that are gonna get sent and what day they're gonna get sent. And the great thing is you can keep adding newsletters here for as long as you need to. If you just wanna, like, bust out some time, you say, okay.

I'm gonna spend 4 hours today, put away my distractions, and just queue up all my newsletters for the next 12 months. You can do that right away. If you put write a newsletter, you can write as many as you need to, queue it up, and we will put it in there at the time slot that it needs to get sent automatically based on the schedule. So that's a really cool thing about newsletters. Okay.

So the next thing, you know, jumping out of newsletters now. The next way that you can communicate with your audience automatically, it's like an automatic sequence, would be auto responses. So in this case, auto responses can be sent after you, someone joins a list or they join or they purchase a product. Right? So either of these actions, you can trigger an autoresponder sequence, which is just a sequence of automatic emails that go out after they the customer takes that Calvin.

Join with the list, purchase this product. The place to add those auto responders is pretty Simplero, and it's the same spot for both lists and products. So let's say you want to trigger an email sequence that goes out after they sign up to your list. You would go to contact lists, and you would choose the list here. So let's say after the 4 week crash course webinar, if they join this list, I want to send them a series of emails.

So you'll go to the auto response tab here and you'll see, add auto response, all of that. And add someone in the room here. Add auto response. And this is where you can add your first email, and then continue to add emails after that. So let's say I add auto response.

Thanks for signing up. So in this case, if you wanted to go out immediately after they join the list, you would leave it at 0 days after sign up and then add auto response here. Okay. And this is where you can add the subject line, add the body. Again, like what we talked about before, you get to choose the email design here.

So really important to have those set up. If you need to add a trigger for something, you can always add that here. And then once you've written the auto response, let's say, this is the information they need after they join the list. Right at here. So let's say you've written out all the information they need.

You've said thank you for signing up, and this is the first email that goes out after they join the list. What you would do is save changes and then make sure that you turn it from draft to active. The reason for that is because if they join after this email like, let let's say they join and this email is still in draft mode. They're not going to receive it. We do have the option to send it to them after.

Like, we'll have a button here that's orange that says, hey. They signed up or, like, it says, like, 3 people are missing this auto response. They didn't get it because it wasn't active at the time it was sent. So you can click a button and send it to them. But, ideally, we recommend getting your email sequence set up and ready to go before you start promoting this list.

That way, they're gonna be in and they're gonna be receiving it without you having to go back and and send it to them. And then the nice thing is you can just add more emails here. So auto responses are super simple. They're not meant to be, complex. It's just send them an email, choose, how many days after sign up it sent, and then you can add as many emails to the sequence as you need and choose how many days after sign up it needs to get sent.

So you can put more auto responses here. Ryan says, does the system track what sequences or emails a person has received if I am triggering the same welcome auto response for new buyers after they buy 1 of 3 products buys all 3, are they getting that same auto or do we need to tag someone? So auto response is, if you add an auto response to a product and you add it to multiple products, right, and it's the same auto response, and they purchase all 3 products, they will receive the auto response from all 3 products. So they'll receive it from the first product, the second product, and the third. So if they buy all all 3 products in a row, they would get all 3 emails at the same time, if that makes sense, or immediately after they bought.

So maybe a couple minutes between each one. So that's how auto responses are set up. Do we need to tag someone on my students or something and then add that as a don't send? So with the auto responses, that's a good question. With auto responses, again, they're very basic.

So you can't actually say, you know, don't send if like, you can't put a condition here. I'm gonna go over automate automations, which I think would be the the feature that you're gonna need instead if you need to filter things out. So I'll go over that in automations. But with auto responders, it's very Simplero, and you won't be able to add conditions based on what products they've already bought. Like, they would still receive all the emails.

Or what happens with auto responders? So best to have no auto responder. Check out yeah. In your case, if that's what you need, then I would use automations in that case. Yeah.

Good question. Okay. And just so you guys know, again, same thing with products. So because I, you know, I went here and I went to the auto responses tab for the list. Let's say you want to do an auto responder sequence after they buy a product.

And again, it's meant to be a very basic email sequence. If you don't need to do lots of customizing, you don't mind if they get it, I would just use autoresponse in that case. So you go to sales, products, you're gonna choose your product, and you're gonna go to the auto responses tab. Exact same situation. Right?

So it's pretty fairly simple. But, yeah, we do recommend creating the sequence before they subscribe to the list or purchase a product. Okay. So now I'm gonna go into automations, kinda similar to what Ryan had mentioned, you know, with his specific use case. There are use cases where automations would probably be a better fit.

The difference between auto responses and automations is that automations can be used for a whole bunch of other things, like filtering things out and adding conditions and, doing more things than just sending emails. Right? So an automation, is just more complex. Now automations are only available on the Calvin the skyrocket plan. So if you're on the starter, you wouldn't be able to use automations and you would just need to use auto responses, on the starter plan.

But so to get to the automations, you're gonna go to marketing automations. Again, this is a more advanced form of sending emails automatically. So I'm gonna create a new automation. When you create the automation, don't get too hung up on this. It's just basically we give you the option to say, yeah.

When they join my automation, I want it to be triggered based on a certain situation. Like, based on whether they joined an event or became a participant on a product or joined a list. Like, you can choose that here. For the most part, I would recommend just using flexible because then it can change later if you need to change it more easily. You can add a trigger for almost anything.

So flexible is usually what I choose, but you could if you know the specific situation it's gonna be triggered for, you could choose it here if you need to. Name your new automation. The name goes up here. You can edit it here. And now here, you're gonna see where you can add your steps and add a trigger. So add a step. Again, high level overview.

If you do that, it's not gonna save it to your email library, which I'll show you what that is, but that's a separate library of emails that you can put into your automations. So we just make it easier for you to go fast. But you can also pick from your email for automations, which is your library. And those emails are here. The place to find that would be to go to marketing email for automations. This is an email library where you can create new emails that you can put into your different automations.

A a reason for doing it here rather than directly in the automation would be if you're gonna use this email in multiple automations. Right? That's one reason. Maybe you have an email that's gonna be used for different campaigns, different things, and you want to be you don't wanna have to rewrite that every time you're adding a step in an automation. You can choose to wait for a while and then choose, like, a few hours or, wait for 5 days or, you know, one day. However long you want to do. You can also wait till a specific time. Like, if I I only want this email to go out November 19th at 12:30 PM, you can choose that here. The time zone would be set to my time zone, which is Montreal, so EST. The person who's creating the automation, their profile time zone. But if you want it to go out based on the, a specific time in the contact's time zone when they're going through the automation.

Let's say that you have a contact in Australia, you want it to go at their time zone. And then you have a contact in Germany, you want it to go at their time zone. You would choose the time here and then choose a specific time in the contact's time zone. Right? And we have a whole bunch of other options here too, which is really cool.

Let's say you've got a whole email sequence here, and and some people are joining after these wait steps. But you don't want them to just get all the emails at once. Because what happens is if they get if they join after a wait step and they pass that wait step, they'll just skip it and go to the next step, Which means they might possibly get multiple emails at once. They would get this email, they would skip this step, get this email, and it's happening all at once. If you don't want that to happen, on the email step here, you could say click this little pencil icon.

You can say skip if most recent wait step was exceeded, which is great because then if they skip if they let's say they exceeded the wait step time, they came after November 19th at 12:39 PM. You Calvin skip them getting this email, and then they'll only get the email that, you know, comes with the time that they came into the automation. Again, it's a little bit of a mini detail, but I I find it pretty useful for a lot of people when they are creating email sequences. And then to start the automation, you would click add a trigger. Right?

So you're gonna click that here, add trigger, and you're gonna choose what needs to happen to start the automation. You want them to start going through this automation, let's say, when they join your list. So you would find that down here. It should be under list. So, again, we've got the categories kind of set out for you so you can find it.

You can also not make the trigger live if you're you're just creating automation but you don't want people to join it yet. You don't want the trigger to fire yet but you do wanna just set it everything up. You can toggle this off so it's not live anymore. So people can join the list and they won't go in.

Just make sure to come back in, edit the trigger, and make it live again when you're ready to go. Otherwise, people will not be getting into your automation. And then Ren says for auto responders after a purchase, let's say that I set up a series of emails for each product which will send out for 4 days. If the user starts getting those and is already familiar with the product, opt out of the rest of the auto responder sequence without unsubscribing from me entirely. That's a good question.

Auto responder sequences do have the legal footer at the bottom. So, technically, if they were to opt out from that legal footer at the bottom, they would be opting out of product emails because it's coming from a product, not a list. Right? So what it would do is on their email settings, their subscription management settings, I believe we have a couple different options. Like, we get to they get to say, yeah.

I don't wanna opt out from the deep from certain product, emails, but I wanna opt out from the ones coming from the autoresponder. And I think those are content emails I'd have to check. When you're selecting emails to put into your automation as a step, you can choose an email for automation from here. Now you can also, if you for some reason wrote it in your email library and you're like, wait a second. I just wanna send this as a one off email as a broadcast.

If you wrote a broadcast that you want to then use in an automation, you can do the same thing. So you can go to marketing, broadcasts. And, again, these are one off emails that were sent at some period of time and you're like, wait a second.

So do you see how we have different ways to reuse emails without having to rewrite them, and it just saves you more time? And then another thing that we have that is more it's not as well known, is quick emails. So you can actually just send a quick email to your contacts really simply. The way to do that is to go to contacts, all contacts. You're gonna see I'm gonna go out of the bounce contacts.

Let's say you're in all contacts here. Again, this is our test account. And you just wanna send a one off email to someone or to someone else, but it's just a quick email that goes out to, like, 2, 3 people, however many. You can choose the people here. 1 person, 2, 3, 4.

Send text message. So you just click send text message, put the message, send text.

One thing to keep in mind about text messages is that they cannot be replied to. They are you know? So just keep in mind, if someone tries to reply, it wouldn't let them. And so you can't really monitor replies. But you could put an email address in the text and say reply to this email or something.

There's ways to work around it, or you could add a different phone number, say reply to my phone here, you know, and they just have to send a new message to that place. That's kind of the workaround. It's just, you know, maybe I have a campaign and I'm sending out a couple of broadcasts or maybe I need to send out this one broadcast email to a certain list. Right? So they're more separate from each other versus newsletters would be like, I wanna email my people every month.

And instead of just going to your broadcast and queuing up a broadcast every month, and then just having all those broadcast displayed in your list of emails, your list of broadcasts, which they they would all be displayed and then have other emails displayed in there too. So it they're not really it's not really segmented as well or as easily for you. The newsletter schedule is just a lot better because the newsletter schedule has all the emails from that schedule in that list of of emails for that schedule, and they're all queued out for you as you create them, and it's just faster and easier. So that would be the difference. It's more like newsletters are for, like, a monthly or an ongoing amount of emails that you wanna send out for a certain group of people versus broadcast or more one off.
