Simplero has a number of options to prevent spammers from ending up on your contact list.
There are 3 Custom Anti-Bot Settings you can choose from to help the system verify that the subscriber is not a bot:
On Suspicious Signups - this option is selected by default.
If Simplero detects that a user signing up to your list is suspicious, we make them go through an extra step (Captcha) to first confirm they're human.
There is a long algorithm and series of checks we do to determine what is "suspicious."
On All Signups - we will require the extra step (Captcha) from all signees
Never - we will never require Captcha from your signees
We use Altcha (similar to Captcha) on surveys. This is to help prevent bot submissions.
At the moment, Altcha cannot be toggled on or off (it’s ON by default) - so you don’t have to do anything to use it.
This is what it looks like in action:
You can also head to your Contacts page and press the Name / Email / Simplero ID column to reorder the contacts alphabetically:
That way you can see if you have any contacts with no names. Oftentimes if you see several contacts with no names, this can indicate that they’re spam contacts.
You can also spot-check a specific list via Contacts >> Lists >> Subscribers to see if there are any spammy signups in the mix.
NOTE! Even though lots of work has been done to combat spam in Simplero, it's possible that some Spam still slips through. If you notice an increased rise in spam, please contact Simpero Support and we'll see if there's something we can do.
