Hi.In this video, I'm going to show you how to set up your custom domain in your Simplero account. So this is assuming that you've already purchased it.If you haven't purchased a custom domain yet, you'll need to do that first before you get started. So from your Simplero dashboard, click on the settings cog here, then you're gonna click on change your URL.
0:26
On this page, you're gonna click add domain, and you're just going to type in your custom domain. And before I click save, I actually prefer to leave this modal open, while I'm working in my DNS manager. That way I can just switch back and forth.Because if you'll notice here, you have all of your instructions. This is everything that you need to know here.
0:48
So and you actually have these really nifty copy to clipboard, icons. So when you click it, it's copied to your clipboard, and, you just navigate over to your DNS manager and paste it.Before I save this change, we're gonna go over to the DNS manager.I'm using GoDaddy. The same rules apply no matter what domain host that you've chosen.
1:11
You're just going to open up that account and look for a DNS manager or advanced DNS or cpanel.Anything that sounds like that, that's what you're gonna wanna navigate to.Once you've found your DNS management screen, you're just gonna start adding the records. We'll add a new record.Let's go back over here.
1:33
And the first record that we're going to add is an a record pointing to this IP, which we've already copied. You should see drop down where you can select a record type.In the drop down box, you'll see a record, c name, TXT, and so on.I'm going to choose a record.Depending on your DNS manager, in the name field, you'll either add an at symbol, but some require that you leave the field blank altogether.
2:02
So if you add an at symbol and you say that and you get an error message, then try removing the at symbol and leaving this field blank. And then I'm gonna paste in the value field the IP address that we just copied from the account.GoDaddy allows you to add more than 1 record at once.If your domain manager does not allow you to do that, then just save your a record and then create a new 1.So I'm going to create the second record now before I save any changes.
2:33
So in my Simplero account, it says that the next record that I need to add is a c name record, and it's gonna point to this.So I'm just going to copy this to my clipboard. And from the drop down, I'm going to choose c name record this time.In the name field, we're going to do this. And in the value field, we're gonna paste the value that we just copied from the Simplero account.
3:01
So all of this looks correct to me, and I'm going to go ahead and save my records. And success. So the records have been saved. Now we will head back into the account.Everything else can be handled in here.
3:17
I'm going to save the changes on this domain and scroll down here and save my changes here.My preference is to not point my domain until it has verified because it could potentially lead to errors.Your domain will verify. You know, propagation can technically take up to 48 hours. But in most cases here, your domain will verify in actually, pretty quickly.
3:47
But don't be alarmed if it doesn't verify as a heads up.Don't be alarmed if it doesn't verify for up to 24 hours. If you just pointed your domain away from 1 site into another, it could take a little bit longer. If after 24 hours, your domain still hasn't verified, you'll you can reach out to the the Simplero team and have have us take a look.Periodically, you can come back here and click recheck now to see if your domain has verified, and there we go.
4:16
Let's see.Once it has verified, then the last step is to point your domain. So where do you want to point the domain that you've just set up to?Do you wanna point it to your main website? You can point it to your membership sites.
4:32
You can also point it to individual landing pages.I'm going to choose my main site and then save my changes. So this means that whenever I visit my main website, it's going to use this domain.
