At the End of This Lesson
You'll have your PayPal Business account connected to Simplero so you can accept payments through PayPal.
Before You Start
- A PayPal Business account
- Access to your PayPal API Signature (you'll retrieve this during the setup)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Get Your PayPal API Credentials
- Log in to your PayPal Account
- Go to your API credentials page
- Click on “Continue with out-of-use NVP/SOAP certificate”

- Choose “partner”, enter "Simplero" and choose “continue with deprecated credentials”

- Copy your:
- API Username
- API Password
- API Signature

Step 2: Add PayPal in Simplero
- In Simplero, go to Settings-> Payment Processors
- Click +New payment processor.
- In the PayPal section, click Add
- Enter your PayPal email address.
- Paste your API Username, Password, and API Signature.
- Click Create payment processor.

Troubleshooting

I don't see the API Credentials page.
- Make sure you're using a PayPal Business account. Personal accounts can't be used.

PayPal payments aren't working in Simplero.
- In PayPal, make sure Encrypted Website Payments is disabled. You can find this under Settings → Website Payments → Website Preferences.

The API credentials aren't accepted.
- Double-check that you copied the API Username, API Password, and API Signature exactly as shown in PayPal.
Note: PayPal occasionally updates its interface. If the menu names or locations are different, the setup process is still the same—you'll need to locate your API Signature credentials before connecting PayPal to Simplero. Let us know if that happens so we can update our resources!
