Creating Embedded Forms
If you prefer a video explanation, head to our How To Videos Creating an Embedded Form Opt-in forms are a great way to grow your email list, increase conversions, and build an engaged audience. And having opt-in forms that are personal and customized can help a lot. That's why we put together this guide to show you how to customize your opt-in forms in Simplero.  Navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages & forms, then click on Create new embedded form: Pick a template: Design the opt-in form on the Edit tab: Once there, you can: a) Check the different designs for desktop/mobile views. b) Edit the content by clicking on the text directly. c) Customize the style of the form objects using the options on the right sidebar. d) Select which fields to show on the form or add new custom fields: Navigate to Settings at the header's top right corner: On the settings page, you will see different sections... a) Edit the embedded form name, and turn On/Off to make it Live. b) Presentation: Choose how the opt-in form is shown on the page.  Inline -  Form is displayed wherever you insert the embed code Modal -  Form is shown in a modal box in the center of the page and the rest of the page is dimmed Slide-in - Form slides in from the bottom or the side to be seen in the bottom-right corner You can also choose the label for the link to close the modal and the template on this section.  c) Restrict views. Allows you to choose: Which devices do you want to show it on (all, desktop, or mobile) How long does the system wait to show the form to the same person again (in case you don't want the person to keep seeing the form every time they log in to the page) How many times we show it to the same person Whether to hide it from known contacts or not d) Conversion Action: Choose what the form is used for: Opt in to a list Got to a product order form Go to a URL No action (just a popup) e) After Conversion: Choose what we should do when someone has signed up Use List behavior: We will choose what the list is configured to do Override the list setting and: Show message: You can then choose the message after conversion that will show only for this specific form.  Redirect: Customers are sent straight to that URL after subscribing, including when double opt-in flow would normally show a confirmation page. f) Trigger: Choose what causes the opt-in form to be displayed. Page Load - show right away Exit intent - When it looks like the user is about to leave the page (only works on desktops) Scroll percentage - when they've scrolled through a certain portion of the page Time - after the specified amount of time on the page Manual - manual trigger only - If you choose this option, you will need to add the manual trigger code to your page too.  g) Advanced Settings: Teaser Mode: Customize a teaser when the form is closed Expiration: To turn the form off automatically on a certain date in the future Blacklist URLs: Add exception pages where you would not want this embedded form to be displayed over other settings anywhere else Custom CSS code h) Triggers: If something needs to happen after they sign up to this form, you would trigger that here. Save changes Now you are ready to embed the form on another page. Once you have finished creating the form, you will want to embed it on another page. This can be either a Simplero page or an external page. Continue to the next lesson to learn how to integrate an Embedded form on a Simplero page using the section Script.

Embed Sign-up Forms to Your Simplero Sites and Pages
In this lesson... Show an Opt-in Form in All pages of a Simplero Site Embed an Opt-in Form on a Simplero Page Embed a Manually-Triggered Opt-In to a Button If you prefer to watch this on a video, you can head to our How To Videos where this is explained in minute 11:20. To know how to create an Embedded Form go back to the previous lesson, Embedded Forms. Important notes! This is not possible to do while on trial as adding embedded code is not available. Show an Opt-in Form in All pages of a Simplero Site If you'd like an embedded sign up form to show in ALL pages of a Simplero Site, then navigate to the Site >> Configure page and scroll down to the Signup forms section: You'll be able to choose from the existing embedded forms in your account. Done! Embed an Opt-in Form on a Simplero Page Navigate to the embedded form. The shortest way is from the Landing pages table, click on the Embedded view and then filter by List. If you haven't created it yet, follow the steps in this guide to design a new one.  Once you've located the Embedded form, on the Embed tab, scroll down to the Embed Code (required) section and copy it to your clipboard: Go to the Site Page where you'd like the embedded opt-in form to show up. Head to Website >> Pages, then access the Editor for that specific page on the Website by clicking on the page name: Add an HTML element anywhere in the page: Paste the embed code you copied: The Embed form will now show up according to the Presentation settings on the Embed form. NOTE: The form will appear blank on the Editor page once you add the embed code and save your changes, but it will appear on the front-end of the page according to the Presentation settings on the Embed form. Click on the three dots and View published version in the top right-hand corner to see it in action: Embed a Manually-Triggered Opt-In to a Button The easiest way to do this is to create a pop-up inside your page. Follow the steps in this guide to create your pop-up and connect it to a button on the page. If you still prefer to embed a manually-triggered opt-in form… Follow the steps 1-5 in the previous section to add the embedded form Add the manual code to your button. To do that: Go back to your form - Embed tab Under the "Manual trigger" section, copy the code between the " signs. In the example below, it should be only #simplero-landing-page-681056 Go to the page where you want this to activate and locate the button On the button action, choose "Go to" and in the link field paste the code copied in step 2 Keywords: Embedded form, Link, Embed

Embed a Simplero Signup Form Onto An External Site
If your main website is hosted with Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix or some other provider, it's fairly easy to integrate a Simplero Signup flow onto that site.  Then users can fill out a form using your Wordpress design and be added to your Contact list in Simplero.  Here's how it's done: Follow the steps in this guide to create your Embedded Form On the Embed tab, scroll down to the Embed Code (required) section and copy it to your clipboard: Paste the Embed Code into a Script or source code section on your external website.

Personalized or Quiz Style Landing Pages
Have you ever wanted to create a personalized landing page or thank you page? Something more than just including a visitor's name? A landing page or thank you page that really stands out and makes users feel special? Well, you can! You can create a personalized message based on how a site visitor or customer completes an opt-in or order form. Or maybe you've wanted an opt-in quiz on your site. Quizzes are fun and insightful for customers and are a great way to bring in new leads for your list. Now, you can create these personalized options on your Simplero landing pages and site using our radio button form fields and Global snippets.  Here's how: Create Your Custom Radio Button Form Field To make a personalized landing page, the first step is to set up your custom form field. You want to add the custom form field and make sure to add an Interpolation key that makes sense with the field.  How to add fields: Select Settings from your Simplero Dashboard. Select the Custom fields tab. Press Add custom field to see the Field types on the right: Click on the field you want to show in your form. For example, select the Radio buttons from the Custom fields section from the right side of the screen: Edit the field on the right side of the page. The changes will auto-save: Interpolation Keys on Custom Form Fields For each field you add to your forms, you can also now add a customer Interpolation key. The Interpolation key allows you to transfer the information that's filled in a field to an email broadcast.  Here's how you do it: Select the Settings gear icon from the top right-hand corner of your Simplero Dashboard. Select the Custom fields tab. Press the Add custom field button in the top right-hand corner. Choose the Field from the right side of the page.  You'll now be able to edit the field. Press + Key and a box will appear that says "Interpolation key": Fill in that box with a label (all one word) that represents the field information you're bringing over. For example, if it was a phone number field, the Interpolation Key would be phonenumber. Click the blue Save changes button and close out of the Editing area for that field. Copy the link to the Interpolation Key using the clipboard icon next to the field:   Now when you create your broadcast or landing page, you can paste in your Interpolation key in the body of text, and the unique information the customer put into that field will appear for them when they read the email.  Sticking with the example of the phone number, you would paste wherever you want this field to appear.   Create Your Global Snippets The Global snippets are going to be the response that appears based on what's chosen in the form field. Select Settings from your Simplero Dashboard. Select the Global snippets tab Scroll down to the Global snippets section and click the white + Add a global snippet button: Enter an Interpolation key in the Key box area. This is a bit of text you're going to add to the snippet code, so it knows what text to populate. For example, if the text describes the colour blue, you might use colourblue as your key: The box to the right is where you'll write the text that you want to populate wherever you paste in the key: You can then select the white + Add a global snippet button to add as many snippets as you'd like. Click the blue Save changes button at the bottom of the page. To access your global snippet, use the field and replace "key" with the key you chose. So for this example, I would use . Wherever I paste this key, the text "Your favourite colur is blue! Yay!" will populate.  Now You're Ready to Set Up Your Landing Page... Create your landing page as usual, either as a stand-alone landing page or as a page on your site or membership site. Here are our guides on how to set up a landing page or add a page to your site.  You can also choose to edit the Simplero default thank you page on your list or product via List >> Content >> Thank You Page or Product >> Content >> Thank You Page and use this there.  Wherever your landing page is, click into the text field and write the copy the way you want it to appear. Use the Interpolation keys wherever you want the custom response to show. For example, you would use Interpolation keys like this to show a certain portion of text depending on which radio button option they choose:  Note: You may have more than three options for the radio button, which is fine. You'll just continue adding the different radio button options and the corresponding interpolation keys.

You can create beautiful, customized landing pages in Simplero and use them with WebinarJam! 🎉  You just need to make a few changes to the code you get from WebinarJam. Click "edit this template." Paste the URL for the landing page you just created in Simplero and save: Finish Setting Up Your Webinar Go to Your Links and copy the code from the Embed registration button in your own site field: Paste the code into a text editor outside of Simplero (not directly into your landing page!) and delete all the code related to the WebinarJam "register now" button. That part will break the landing page if it's added in Simplero, which is why you need to do this part outside of Simplero. The code looks something like this:  <link href="//app.webinarjam.net/assets/css/register_button.css" rel="stylesheet"><div style="margin:auto;width:300px;"><div class="embedded-joinwebinar-button"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default css3button" title="regpopbox_123455_12345678"><span>Register now</span></button></div></div><script src="//cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js" language="javascript" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="//app.webinarjam.net/assets/js/porthole.min.js" language="javascript" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="//app.webinarjam.net/register.box.js" language="javascript" type="text/javascript"></script><div id="frameContent" style="-webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch !important; overflow: auto;top: 0; left: 0; background:#fff;position: fixed; width: 100%; height: 100%; display:none; z-index:2147483647;"></div><img src="//app.webinarjam.net/tracker?action=registration&webicode=12345678&memberid=12345" style="visibility:hidden; height:0px; width:0px; border:none;"> Copy the rest of the code. Add the Code to Your Landing Page Go to your Landing Page Editor in Simplero, and paste the code either in the source code of a Text section or body text for the CTA. You have to use the source code <> function in the editor and paste the code in the popup window that appears: Finish designing your landing page. Et voilà! 🤌

Landing Page Statistics
Simplero makes it easy for you to see if your Landing page is converting. 🤓 Select Marketing from your Simplero Dashboard. Choose Landing pages from the dropdown menu. From the Full tab, locate and open the Landing page you want to check. Click on the Content tab. At the top of this screen, you'll be able to see... Total Views is how many times your landing page has been viewed all together Unique views are how many unique visitors your page have had Conversions are how many of your visitors that converted into a lead/customer Conversion rate is how many of your unique visitors that converted into a lead/customer Scroll down to see the Statistics of your Landing Page in graph format:  Note: If you use the same landing page for new campaigns, you can reset the stats on the little red button before starting your campaign: Detailed Views data Find detailed data from your viewers on the Views tab including the IP, URL, Referrer and tracking parameters: How Simplero categorizes views as “Unique” When users visit the landing page, we set a cookie on their browser, then request the browser to send that cookie back whenever the visitor loads the page again. If we get the cookie back from the browser, we mark the view as Repeat.  If there’s no response from the browser, we mark the view as Unique. But what happens if the browser doesn't send the cookie back?  Be aware! Everyday privacy policies are making it harder and harder to track user activity. Most browsers tend to block cookie requests now, which causes most tracked views to be marked as Unique instead of Repeat.

Designing Sign Up Forms
There are multiple options when it comes to creating an opt-in form in Simplero. We go in detail on the help guide Create a List Opt-in Form. Specific info about full landing pages can be found on our dedicated help guide Full Page Landing Pages, while we explain how to set up embedded forms on the help guide Embedded Landing Pages.
Intro to Simplero- Opt in
Sharing Your Opt In Page on Facebook (Meta)
One of the cool things about Simplero is how easily it lets you manage your metadata (the stuff that shows up when you share a page on Facebook or other platforms). You’ve got full control over your titles, descriptions, and images, so your links look exactly the way you want them to. Have a look at this written manual if you prefer!  And hey, if you’ve ever updated a page and Facebook still shows the old preview? Yeah, that’s just their cache being lazy. No worries—you can pop your URL into Facebook’s Sharing Debugger, hit “Scrape Again,” and boom—fresh data. Works like a charm.

UTM Parameters
Ever wondered which of your marketing efforts actually brought someone to your site - was it that Instagram post, your email newsletter, or a Facebook ad? UTM parameters help you find out. They're a simple way to label (or “tag”) your links so that when someone clicks one and signs up or purchases, your analytics tools (and Simplero!) know exactly where that person came from. No guessing, no assumptions - just clear data. Heads up! This guide is a long one, so here are some quick links to help you navigate: What is a UTM parameter? Why do UTM parameters matter? The five main UTM parameters you can add How to build your UTM URL How Simplero uses UTM parameters How to view UTM Data for product purchases How to view UTM Data for list subscriptions How to view UTM Data for funnel opt-ins and purchases How to view UTM Data for bot conversations How to add UTM Parameters to links in your emails How to track UTM Parameters on survey responses What happens to the UTM parameters when someone clicks a button on a page you’ve UTM-tagged? Using UTMs with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads Best practices to keep your UTM data clean What is a UTM parameter? A UTM parameter is a short piece of text that you add to the end of a URL telling you where the link was clicked and how. It doesn't change where the link goes - it just carries extra information behind the scenes. Here's what a normal link looks like: https://yoursite.com/offer And here's the same link with UTM parameters added: https://yoursite.com/offer?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=spring_launch That extra text after the ? is the UTM data. When someone clicks that link, your analytics tool reads those labels and records them - so you can see exactly where your visitors came from. Learn more about how to build your UTM URLs in this section. You can share the same link in multiple places, just with different UTM parameters for each platform. That way, you'll always know which one sent the traffic. Why do UTM parameters matter? Without UTM parameters, analytics tools have to guess where your visitors came from - and they're often wrong. A click from a Facebook ad might show up as "direct traffic." An email link might go completely untracked. You end up making decisions based on incomplete or misleading data. And in Simplero, you also won’t be able to see where your members are clicking from. With UTM parameters in place, you can answer questions like: Which campaign brought in the most sign-ups this month? Are my Facebook ads or my emails converting better? Which specific post or ad creative got the most clicks? This means you can put more budget and energy into what's actually working - and stop spending on what isn't. The five main UTM parameters you can add (and additional tracking fields) Think of UTM parameters like answering three questions about every visitor: Where did they come from? How did they get here? Which campaign sent them? There are five main parameters in total - three essential, two optional. The essential three parameters utm_source: Where did the traffic come from? This is the platform or place that sent the visitor to you. Examples: facebook, instagram, google, your-newsletter utm_medium: How did they get there? This describes the type of marketing - the channel or method. Examples: email, paid_social, organic_social, cpc (cost-per-click) utm_campaign: Which campaign was this? This identifies the specific marketing effort or campaign that drove the visit Examples: spring_launch, black_friday, welcome_sequence The optional two parameters utm_content: Which version of the content? Useful when you're running multiple ads or links in the same campaign and want to know which specific one performed best. Examples: blue_banner, video_ad, top_of_page_button utm_term: Which keyword or audience? Used to separate ads that use the same creative but target different audiences or keywords. Examples: coaches_retarget, cold_audience_women Additional tracking fields Simplero can capture Adgroup: Which ad group or audience segment? Primarily used in paid ads platforms like Google Ads and Meta Ads to identify the ad set, audience, or grouping the ad belonged to. Examples: retargeting_group, warm_leads, website_visitors Keyword: Which search keyword triggered the ad? Most commonly used in Google Ads to track which search term led someone to click your ad. Examples: business_coach, online_course_platform, email_marketing_for_coaches How to build your UTM URL You build a UTM URL by adding your parameters to the end of any link you want to track. Here's how to do it manually, step by step. Start with your destination URL: This is the page you want people to land on. For example: https://yoursite.com/offer Add a question mark: The question mark separates your URL from the tracking data. Add it directly after the URL with no spaces: https://yoursite.com/offer? Add your first parameter: Each parameter follows the format parameter_name=your_value. Start with utm_source. Let’s say your value is “facebook”, so the URL would be: https://yoursite.com/offer?utm_source=facebook Add each additional parameter with an ampersand (&): Every parameter after the first is separated by an &: https://yoursite.com/offer?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=spring_launch Use your finished URL wherever you're sharing the link Paste each link into your ad, email, social post, etc (depending on the parameters you added). It will work exactly like your normal URL - it just carries the tracking data along with it. How Simplero uses UTM parameters When you add UTM parameters to a link and someone signs up to a funnel, makes a purchase or signs up to a list from that link, Simplero captures and displays that data against that signup or purchase. So you can see, for example, that a specific Facebook ad led directly to a sale. We also give you the option to turn UTM tracking off and on automatically for your broadcasts. Review UTM Parameters for Product Purchases, List Subscriptions, Funnel Opt-Ins/Purchases and Bot Conversations For Product Purchases: Head to Sales > Purchases (or Sales > Products > Choose the product > Purchases for purchases from a specific product) Press the column icon on the right-hand side Type UTM and select any of the UTM parameters you want to see on the columns for each purchase to understand where they came from: You can also click on an individual purchase, and you’ll see the UTM data (if any) under the Conversion & tracking box: NOTE! Sometimes you’ll see UTM parameters show up for purchases that came from a link in an email, even if you didn’t add any UTM parameters to the link yourself. Simplero automatically adds UTM parameters to links in your emails unless you tell us not to. Jump to How to add UTM Parameters to links in your emails for more information on this. For List Subscriptions: Head to Contacts > Lists Choose the list you want to review and then click on the Subscribers tab Press the column icon on the right-hand side Type UTM and select any of the UTM parameters you want to display on the columns for each purchase to understand where they came from NOTE! Simplero can display both the first and most recent tracked UTM values for list subscribers, provided the subscriber visited through UTM-tagged links before signing up. For Funnel Opt-Ins and Purchases: Head to Marketing > Funnels Choose the funnel you want to review Click the Opt-ins tab for list signups, and Purchases tab for product purchases Press the column icon on the right-hand side Type UTM and select any of the UTM parameters you want to see on the columns for each purchase to understand where they came from: For Bot Conversations: Head to Content > Bots Choose the bot you want to review Click the Conversations tab Press the column icon on the right-hand side Type UTM and select any of the UTM parameters you want to see on the columns for each conversation. How to add UTM parameters to links in your emails When you add a link to your emails, Simplero automatically adds UTM tracking to it - so you can see who clicked and what they did next. If you'd prefer not to track a specific link, you can always choose "Do Not Track" when adding a URL by following these steps: Head to Marketing > Broadcasts (or Marketing > Email Library for automations emails) Press the blue Create new broadcast button in the top right-hand corner Press the link icon in the editor’s toolbar: Add the URL, text to display and title shown on hover if relevant Select “Do Not Track”: Press the blue Insert button As long as you keep that box de-selected, Simplero will add UTM parameters to the links in your emails automatically. How to track UTM parameters on survey responses You can now add hidden fields to your surveys that the respondents will never see, but will still get stored with their submission. You can use this field to capture data from the UTM parameters you added to the survey URL, to know where each respondent clicked on the survey link, etc. Here’s how to do it: Head to Contacts > Surveys Choose the survey you want to add the hidden field to Press the Add field button and choose Hidden field: URL param: Add the name of the UTM parameter you’ll be tracking in the survey URL (ie. utm_source): NOTE! 1. Required can stay toggled off, and Help text can be blank (these are not relevant, since the field is hidden). 2. Use a separate hidden field for each parameter. Click the Responses tab Now whatever UTM parameters are added to the survey URL will match up with the parameters in the hidden fields and display that data for each respondent under their respective columns: What happens to the UTM parameters when someone clicks a button on a page you’ve UTM-tagged? When someone clicks a button on a website or landing page that you UTM tag, Simplero gives you the option to carry over the same UTM parameters after clicking, or override them with new parameters. Here’s how to do it: Head to Marketing > Landing Pages or Marketing > Main Website Click the Create a new landing page button or the Create a new page button in the top right-hand corner to create a new button, or click on the name of an existing page you want to add the button to Add a button element to the page (here’s our guide on how to add sections and elements with the 2.0 builder if you need help with that) Change the Action to “Go to link…” and now you’ll see two options for adding UTM parameters to the button: Option 1 - Pass Through UTM Params: Simplero will carry over the page’s UTM parameters when someone clicks it. Option 2 - Add UTM/Tracking Params: Simplero will override the page’s UTM parameters (with the new ones you add to this button) when someone clicks it. NOTE! Be careful adding UTMs to links on a page you're already UTM tracking. If someone arrives on your page via a UTM-tagged link, any buttons or links on that page leading to other pages on your site should have Pass through UTM params selected - not Add UTM/tracking params. If you manually add UTM parameters to those buttons, they will overwrite the original source data and you'll lose track of where that visitor originally came from. If you select both options, the system will prioritise the new parameters you added. Use Add UTM/tracking params on a button only when you intentionally want to track that specific click as a separate source, and you're not concerned about preserving the original UTM tags on the page itself. Using UTMs with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads If you're running paid ads on Facebook or Instagram, here's something important to know: Meta tracks performance inside its own platform (clicks, reach, impressions), but that data stays inside Meta. To see what happens after the click - whether someone signed up, bought something, or bounced - you need UTM parameters feeding into your own analytics. Here's Meta's guide on how to set up URL parameters for your Meta ads in Meta Ads Manager. Meta lets you use dynamic variables so you don't have to type campaign names manually every time. For example: utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=&utm_content= NOTE! Meta will sometimes auto-apply its own UTMs if you don't set them - but their defaults can misattribute paid traffic as organic social in your analytics. Building your own UTM template gives you more accurate, consistent data. Best practices to keep your UTM data clean UTM parameters only work well if everyone uses them consistently. Here are the most important rules to follow: Always use lowercase UTMs are case-sensitive. Summer_Sale and summer_sale are treated as two completely different campaigns. Stick to lowercase everywhere. Agree on naming conventions with your team If one person uses cpc and another uses paid, your analytics will treat those as separate channels even if they mean the same thing. Decide on your terms upfront and document them. Keep campaign names short and specific Good campaign names are easy to spot in a report: 2024_q2_webinar is much clearer than webinar_q2_2024. Lead with the most unique identifier. Always use the platform name as the source utm_source should always be the actual platform: facebook, google, linkedin. Avoid vague names like social or ads. Happy UTM tracking! 🎉
