Who Counts as an active contact
Who Counts as an active Contact (for billing purposes)?
Contacts who meet one or more of these 6 criteria count as an active contact (for billing purposes) in your Simplero account:
Contacts who have active purchases (the purchaser), whether it's free or paid... we need to keep these around for accounting.
Contacts who are participants of an active purchase.
Contacts actively subscribed to a list.
Contacts currently in an automation (if they've completed it, they don't count).
Contacts that have a tag. (excluding the "GDPR consent" tag)
Contacts that are an affiliate.
We don't count contacts that have asked us never to contact them ("Do not contact"). We don't count them if they are archived either.
Each contact only counts once as a contact no matter how many purchases, lists, automation, or tags they have (assuming they are using the same email address each time). If you have a duplicate contact, then it would count for each of the contact records so it will be beneficial to merge any duplicates that you find. To filter contacts by Active/Inactive, navigate to your Contacts page >> Filter by Active:
