28.

What to offer your audience

Let's brainstorm a lead magnet first.

29.

What are the questions you see asked over and over again?

30.

What piece of advice to you find yourself giving over and over again?

31.

What comes easily to you that others struggle with?

32.

Based on your answers above, what is your lead magnet going to be about?

33.

How does your audience like to consume information?

Think of your avatar. Do they like to watch videos? Or maybe they like to read? Are they addicted to podcasts and audio books? Write that down below.

34.

Now decide on a format for your lead magnet and write that below.

Some good examples are:

  • PDF download
  • Email course
  • Video or series of videos
  • Online course
  • Recorded webinar
  • Audio file
  • Etc

35.

Write a catchy title for your lead magnet.

Examples:

  • 5 Ways You’re Sabotaging Weight Loss
  • 3 Things Every Millionaire Does before 8am
  • The 1 Mistake Every New Online Business Owner Makes
  • 8 Secrets to Double Your Income in 2019 ;)

A great formula is "How to (get the end result they want) without (the main reason they struggle with getting that end result)"

Example: "How to lose weight and build muscle without eliminating carbs from your diet"

36.

Lesson: How to position yourself

37.

Choose a story to tell

Think your customers or your avatar. Which of Jeff Walker's stories do you think they would most resonate with?

38.

Briefly outline your own journey, but in the framework of the story type you just chose.

Using bullet points here can be very helpful.

Example (discovery)

  • I used to have very smelly feet. It was embarrassing and I coudn't bear to go out in public.
  • One day, I discovered that if I put a certain combination of spices in my shoes, my feet wouldn't smell anymore.
  • Now I can go anywhere I want without feeling embarrassed by my feet and I want to share the secret mix of spices with you.

39.

What specific problem do you help your customer solve? How do you help them transform?

40.

What core belief do you have about your area of expertise? What strong opinions do you have?

Remember, people don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it. (from Simon Sinek's "How Great Leaders Inspire Action" TED talk)

41.

In dollar amounts, what does your audience stand to lose if they don't do business with you? How much could they gain?

Spend some time on this. Tie the value you provide to real dollar amounts, even if it's just theoretical right now.

For example, it might be difficult for a health coach to justify her fee to a customer.

But what if working with that coach enabled the customer to sleep better? They'd be better rested, they could perform better, and have a much better chance of getting a promotion or better paying job.

That's REAL VALUE you can lean on (if you can actually help them. If you can't don't bother)

42.

Do you solemnly swear to never, ever, EVER play the hero but to always be the GUIDE to your audience?

43.

Lesson: Make a squeeze page

44.

What's the catchy title of your squeeze page?

This could be the catchy title of your lead magnet you came up with earlier.

45.

What's your compelling copy to put on your squeeze page?

46.

What are you going to offer on this squeeze page?
