Custom Fields
Simplero lets you add custom fields to your contacts. You can collect any type of information you want, including complex ones like addresses and phone numbers. Yay! We've added a bunch of built-in field types, like the Twitter handle, age, birthday, addresses, phone numbers, and so on. In addition, you can add as many of your own fields as you'd like. You can add fields to forms and you can add additional ones to products that are only relevant to that particular product, such as what they'd like for lunch 🥪 How to add fields: Select Settings from your Simplero Dashboard Then Select the Custom fields tab under Contacts  Click on Add custom field at the top right corner: Look at all the Field types located on the right side of the screen: Choose the field you want to show in your form. It’ll get added to the bottom of the list and open the field settings on the right: For how to add the fields on your opt-in form, see this guide.  Interpolation Keys on Custom Form Fields For each field you add to your forms, you can also now add a customer Interpolation key. The interpolation key allows you to transfer the information filled in when completing that field to an email broadcast.  Here's how you do it...  Select Settings from your Simplero Dashboard Select Custom Fields under Contacts Click on Add custom field You'll see a box that says "Interpolation keys", fill in that box with a label that will let know what field information you are bringing over. For example, if it was a phone number field, the interpolation key would be phone_number: Now when you create your broadcast or landing page, in the body of text you can type in your interpolation key, and the information the customer put into that field will show up.  Sticking with the example of the phone number I would type wherever I can include these strings. Triggers on form fields By adding a trigger to a form field, you can make the system perform an action based on a customer's response. For example, if you ask them to check a box for the type of emails they'd like to receive (e.g. upcoming webinars, new products, interviews, etc.) then you could add a trigger to each check box that adds them to a corresponding sub-list you use specifically for sending emails about that topic. To add the trigger simply click on Add button in between the title of each field option and the trashcan icon: Allow Contact To Edit Fields With the exception of name and email, all other fields can be optionally edited by your contacts.  Turn on the toggle on the custom field to enable contacts to edit the field: Your customers will then see that field on their subscription management page and be able to edit it from their end by clicking on ‘edit contact information’.

Unengaged Contacts Tracking
What are Unengaged Contacts? Picture this- You have a brilliant business (duh!). You spend valuable time crafting the perfect emails to grab your clients’ attention. You start your fine-tuned automation… only to find out that some recipients have decided not to open your emails 😒 People who never click on your links for a period of time are called Unengaged Contacts. Why care about Unengaged Contacts? You might be thinking, “So what?! I like having a big list and I want to keep it that way!” We hear ya. While a big list is a great accomplishment, Unengaged Contacts have a sneaky way of working against you. Let me explain... Big email providers like Google track the open rates of emails from specific addresses. If you have a good open rate, the email providers will continue putting your correspondence into recipients’ inboxes. However, if they see that too many of your recipients don’t engage with your emails, they might decide your emails belong in the Promotions Folder or worse... Obviously, you want to avoid this. “Unengaged Contacts Tracking” to the rescue! 🎉 What can you do? Enable Unengaged Contacts Tracking to stop sending mail to people who aren’t paying attention anyway. Email broadcasts will automatically exclude unengaged contacts, and you can always turn off the exclusion for a broadcast if you need to. For even better results, create one or two automations to re-engage unengaged contacts or just clean up your list. How Can I Exclude Unengaged Contacts on Emails? On the Recipients page of your email, you will see a toggle to Exclude Unengaged Contacts.  Note: This is turned on by default in new emails as it is what we recommend for best results! Where do I enable Unengaged contacts? Navigate to your Dashboard Settings >> Unengaged Contacts and enable using the blue button at the bottom: Set up for how long a contact has not engaged with you for to be considered Unengaged and Save changes. You can add triggers based on when a contact becomes unengaged or when they re-engage. For example, start an automation with a certain email sequence to motivate re-engagement. You'll find there's an automation that has been created by default for you to enable it right away!  Go ahead and customize the emails we've created as a starting point for you to start the re-engagement process: Note: This will add the unengaged contacts to the automation even if they are not subscribed to any list. If you don't want them to receive those emails when they are not subscribed to any list (in some cases you will need this to comply with EU GDPR laws) you can add a condition to the automation or stop steps.  What will make a contact turn into re-engaged? Opening an email Following a link in an email Subscribing to a list Activating a purchase Replying to an email Registering for an event NOTE: This includes email library and broadcasts. The Last Step: Mark Contact as Archived At the end of the automation, and if the contact has not re-engaged, it will be marked as 'archived'. So what next? Simplero will pause any flows and suspend all subscriptions of archived contacts. They will not be included in the number of contacts we bill you for. You won't be able to email archived contacts. BUT, there are some exceptions where we won't mark a contact as archived that you need to take into account... You can't archive contacts that have either logged into a site in the last 30 days or have active purchases. Learn more about managing contacts and lists on this other guide.

Lead Scores
What is a Lead Score? A Lead Score is a number Simplero assigns to each contact, based on their engagement with you. It helps prioritise leads based on their level of interest, engagement, or fit with the product or service being offered. Think of it as a quick, at-a-glance "interest level" tracker. It can be used for things like: Assessing the likelihood of a lead (a potential customer) becoming a paying customer. Segmenting your audience by warmth - This can help you decide on different strategies, such as inviting them to a call, making offers, and creating re-engaging campaigns. Prioritizing sales/outreach - This can help you focus on high-scoring contacts first, since they’re most likely to convert. Rewarding engagement - For members who are already part of your community, you can offer rewards based on their activity Spotting at-risk customers - You can trigger check-in emails or surveys when their score falls below a threshold. Measure Effectiveness of Campaigns - Compare average lead scores before vs after a campaign to see if it actually warms people up. All of your customers will have a lead score of 0 by default. You can then create triggers and assign specific scores to them. You decide How do I decide if a Lead Score is high or low for my contacts?  You decide! The thresholds for high and low lead scores aren’t universal. They depend on your business model, funnel length, and how much engagement typically happens before someone buys. Once you decide which actions will increase or decrease it, in your case, you can determine what would be a high or low score for your business.  How to Manually Adjust the Lead Score in Simplero Select Contacts >> Contacts from your Simplero dashboard Select the contacts you want to adjust the score for Click on Select action Choose Adjust Lead Score You can then choose the amount that you want to increase or decrease the lead score by (tip: choose a negative amount to decrease it!) How to Use Triggers to Adjust Lead Scores in Simplero You can add triggers that increase someone’s lead score after they perform a specific action (such as purchasing a product, subscribing to a list, etc). You define the actual value that you give to each action. It requires a mix of data, intuition, and refinement over time, and it will depend on what is important for your business.  Here’s how to do it: Select Contacts >> Lists or Sales >> Products from your Simplero dashboard Head to the Content tab Scroll down to the Triggers section and press the blue + Add Trigger button Choose the Event you want the trigger to fire for (ie. when Participant: Activated) Select Adjust lead score as the action Enter a positive amount to increase the score, and a negative amount to decrease it Give it an explanation and press the blue Create trigger button: NOTE! Don’t forget to press the Save changes button after this, if you added the trigger to a Product or a List under the Content tab: Other actions you can add a trigger to that will increase their lead score: Completing a Course Lesson Registering and/or Attending an Event Submitting a Worksheet and/or Survey Scheduling a 1:1 Session (via a Scheduling Link) Joining a Site Clicking a Link in an Email Selecting an Option on a Form And more! How to target a customer based on their Lead Score Once you’ve added the trigger(s) that increase or decrease someone’s lead score after they perform certain actions, you can now target and re-target those leads using Global Triggers. For example, you can add a trigger when someone goes above or below a lead score: That way, you can drop them into a sales funnel or re-engage with them if their lead score starts to drop. Here’s our guide on how to use Global Triggers to accomplish this. How to check my customer's Lead Score You can add Lead Score as a column on any table inside Simplero. To do that: Click on the columns button next to the search bar Choose the Lead score Click on Update You can now compare your customer's lead scores and make decisions based on that: Happy lead score-ing!
